In Ceramic and Grout

The difference between grey and dazzling tiles comes back to the grout in between the tiles. Grout is incredibly porous, and it will quickly absorb any spills, grime, oil, or grease it comes into contact with. Grout dirt varies from room to room depending on activities conducted in those places. For instance, kitchens, bathrooms, and the main entrance areas are the most affected. However, you do not need a specialist or a grout cleaner to have the place dazzling again. Here are excellent grout cleaning tips to help you out.

1. Use plain warm water and a stiff brush.

Stiff scrubbing brushes are readily available in homes but still available on hardware. Warm some water, sprinkle on the grout and use the brush to gently scrub off the dirt in a circular motion and allow it to dry.

2. Mix warm water and vinegar at the ratio of 1:1 and sprinkle on the grout.

Use vinegar to work on the mild stains and heavier dirt. The mixture may seem old-fashioned but has worked for home remedies for years. Spray the mixture, let it settle, and work on the grout for several minutes. Scrub with a stiff brush.

3. Use some paste of baking soda and vinegar.

Apply baking soda paste on the grout and spray some vinegar. Once the reaction of the two stops, scrub the lines and rinse with plain water for better results.

4. Apply oxygen bleach

Some stains may be pretty stubborn and require more potent substance to remove. Apply the oxygen solution and allow it to work on the grout for 10-15 minutes. Then, rinse the areas with clean plain water.

5. Use a commercial grout cleaning product.

Some of the mentioned grout cleaning tips may not be effective for mildew and stubborn stains. Commercial products may work faster in removing them, and most of them are spray-and-wipe or scour with a brush. However, please take the necessary precautions when using the products as they may contain active ingredients.
